Summer Project

The official launch of the "Clondalkin in the Summer of 2008" book will take place on Thursday 18th September 2008. It will open at 7:30 in the Clondalkin Library, Monastery Road, Clondalkin. Photographs were taken during the Summer and have captured Clondalkin as it is today. Special thanks go to Club members Tommy Keogh and Ted Keane for their hard work in putting the project together.

People's Photography

Nine Club members exhibited work at the People's Photography exhibition held over the 25th-26th August 2007. Well done and thanks to Brian McKeown and Eddie Mallin for all their work throughout the year which ensured once again that it was a hugely successful and enjoyable weekend for all those who exhibited and for the public who viewed it. Over 250 photographers exhibited in total.

New Season 2007-08 Kicks Off.

The new season kicks off with the 'Peoples Photography' exhibition over the weekend 25-26th Aug. (more details)

The first Club meeting is on the 27th August and you can check out the calendar here.

Events of note in the early part of the season are the South Dublin Co. Council sponsored exhibition at the Civic centre Clondalkin opening 30th Aug 07, and the Mills Centre promotion hels over Aug 31st - Sept 02nd.

Exhibition 2007

The opening of the 2007 Exhibition of photographic work from Clondalkin Camera Club was held at the Civic Buildings in Clondalkin on 30th August. This exhibition will run from 31st August - 14th September 2007. Click here for more info and photos from the night.

Beginners Classes

Congratulations Ted Keane

Club member Ted Keane was one of the finalists on the RTE Late Late Show Photo Competition, which aired on the 31st Oct. The winner got €10,000 and each of the 11 runners up got €1,000.

Black & White Workshop

A Monochrome workshop was held at Clondalkin Camera Club on the 19th November 2007. Four club members gave talks on traditional and digital monochrome techniques. The speakers on the night were Eddie Mallin, Nora Sleator and Michael Crean, Michael Nolan and Michael Crean.

The evening was very informative and a number of digital conversions to Black and White were described amoung other subjects.Two Black and White digital conversions methods described by Michael Crean on the night are provided here. Method1 Method2

Club Studio Night

A very enjoyable and informative Studio Lighting workshop was held at the club on Monday 21st Jan 08. Here are some photographs from the night. Click here...

Inter Club Competition

On Monday 5th November we hosted an Inter Club Competition with our neighbours, Tallaght Photographic Society.The Competition took the form of a print battle, and was judged by Tom O'Flaherty, former President of the Photographic Society of Ireland and an Honorary Member of both Clondalkin and Tallaght. DSLR IPF Print and Slide Competition

Congratulations to Michael Crean who came in First place in the Colour Print Section of the DSLR IPF Print and Slide Competition on Saturday the 24th November 2007, with Brian McKeown taking Third place in the Transparency Section.

Photographer of the Year 2007

Congratulations to this years winners of the Photographer Of The Year. Michael Crean was the Advanced winner, Michael Sullivan the Intermediate and Fergal O'Sullivan the Novice winner.

Individual Panels Night

An individual panels competition was held at the club on the 16th April 2007. Members presented panels of four related photographs. The members voted for the winner which was Michael Sullivan, with his panel of Abtracts. Click here for photos from the night.

 

Results From Regional Round of the National League

On Wed 15th March 2007 the final round of the National League Regionals took place. I am pleased to say that Clondalkin Camera Club has progressed through the Regional Round. Here are the final results.

 

Congratulations to Tommy Keogh, LIPF

Congratulations to Club Member Tommy Keogh who was 2nd Prizewinner in the National Age Action Photo Competition.Tommy won a four day City Break in Prague. The winning photo taken at Donadea Co. Kildare at the Annual Turfcutting day, which is held on the first Sunday in July is entitled "A Day on the Bog".

Maureen Dunne Competition

Congratulations to Declan Mullin who was the overall winner of The Maureen Dunne competition which was held on Monday the 14th May 2007.

Maureen was a member of the Club, who died suddenly and the Club holds this competition annually in her memory.

Michael Crean was the Advanced Section Winner, Elizabeth McNamee won the Novice Section and Declan Mullen won the Intermediate Section and was the overall winner with his stunning shot of a Damselfly.

 

Still Life Workshop

A very interesting 'Still Life' workshop was held at the club on Monday 12th March and was enjoyed by everyone present. View some photos of the evening.

Congratulations!...

Congratulations to Joe Griffen from Clondalkin Camera Club who came first in the Colour Slide section of the Regional Nature Competition. This was held on the 04th March, in the Spa Hotel in Lucan.

Visit of Cormac Scully

On the 05th March Dublin Based photographer Cormac Scully visited the club. He gave a very interesting presentation of his work. His interests include abstracts, travel photography and architecture.
